Privilege and honor for heart surgeon at Helios Hospital Krefeld

Prof. Diyar Saeed, Chief Physician of the Clinic for Cardiac and Cardiac-Related Vascular Surgery at Helios Heart Center Niederrhein, has been appointed a member of the prestigious American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS).

Founded in 1917, the association of leading cardiothoracic surgeons from a total of 46 countries is committed to education, research, and innovation in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. Membership requires nomination by as many as three established members. In addition to these letters of recommendation for excellence in their specialty, relevant contributions to the treatment of cardiothoracic diseases, scientific publications in major journals, teaching awards, and research fellowships are considered as admission requirements for new members.

Prof. Diyar Saeed has now received this honor in Los Angeles at the 103rd AATS Annual Congress. The 45-year-old has made a name for himself as a specialist in heart failure surgery and minimally invasive cardiac surgery, among other things. His expertise and medical judgment are in demand worldwide.
