Helios Hospital Krefeld is an academic tertiary care hospital affiliated with RWTH Aachen University. Each year, the hospital treats more than 60,000 inpatients and 80,000 outpatients. In addition to the main Helios Hospital in Krefeld, the institution also includes St. Josef Hospital in the Uerdingen district and St. Cecilia Hospital in the Hüls district.
The Krefeld hospital is part of the Helios Rhine-Ruhr Cluster, which consistently achieves some of the best healthcare quality outcomes within the Helios network. For many years, compliance with all quality indicators has remained at around 90%, reaching a new peak of 92% in 2025. The hospital comprises 48 departments and institutes, 18 specialized centers — 16 of which are officially certified — more than 52 inpatient wards with capacity for approximately 1,400 patients, and 36 operating rooms, including a state-of-the-art robotic surgery suite equipped with the da Vinci surgical system.
Patient care is provided by a team of more than 3,500 employees, including 480 physicians, 1,300 nurses, and 260 therapeutic services staff.

Region
Krefeld, the clinic's location, is a small historical town on the banks of the Rhine. Düsseldorf Airport is only 25 kilometers away from the clinic in Krefeld and can be reached in exactly half an hour. At first, in 1845, a hospital was founded there, which is now known as a clinic. From the beginning of the 20th century it was operating as a surgical clinic, and then as clinic for skin diseases. After the war, the hospital was rebuilt several times, and since 2007 it belongs to the Helios clinic network. In 2014, the company redesigned it completely and now a modern multifunctional center has been opened to patients: a spacious and bright building with glass facades, convenient navigation and eco-friendly materials help patients to recover faster.
