The Helios Hanseatic Hospital Stralsund is a specialist care facility with 19 specialist departments. Over 50,000 outpatients and inpatients are treated each year. The hospital has a total of 923 beds, which are used for full and partial inpatient, outpatient and day clinic treatment.
The Hanseatic Hospital is an academic teaching hospital of the University Medicine Greifswald and employs more than 1,200 people. This makes it the largest company and employer in the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. The Hanseklinikum is spread over two scenically and architecturally attractive locations.
Hospital am Sund - Somatic care
The somatic departments are housed in the Hospital am Sund. The hospital is home to various certified centers such as the Breast Center, Stroke Unit, Sleep Laboratory and Prostate Center. Hospital operations are constantly evolving. Not only do the latest, low-noise X-ray machines contribute to improved patient care at the Hanseklinikum, but also regular staff training, interdisciplinary cooperation and an in-house hygiene department.
Numerous construction projects have turned the former naval hospital from the 1930s into a comfortable hospital with medical expertise. The elective ward at the Hospital am Sund offers a special highlight in terms of comfort. In seven single and two double rooms with high-quality furnishings, not only private patients, but also self-pay patients and those with statutory health insurance with supplementary insurance can enjoy an extraordinary feel-good atmosphere.
