New head physician for the department of orthopaedics in Berlin-Zehlendorf

Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Stephan W. Tohtz is the new head of the Clinic for Orthopedics and Trauma Surgery, Center for joint medicine in the HELIOS private hospital Berlin-Zehlendorf as of 1. February 2013.

The 44-year old orthopedist and trauma surgeon, Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Stephan Tohtz, will take over the department of the former chief physician, Professor Dr. med. Jörg Scholz, who retired in January 2013. Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Stephan Tohtz is a specialist in the extremity surgery with a focus on endoprosthetics as well as joint- and spine surgery. He has been the leading senior physician of the section endoprosthetics in the center for musculoskeletal surgery at the Universitätsklinikum Charité since 2005, since 2009 he has been leading senior physician at the clinic for orthopedics and trauma surgery at the Campus Charité Mitte. The focus of his clinical work lies in joint-preserving surgical methods including correctional osteotomy, as well as the complete spectrum of primary- and substitutional endoprosthetics.

Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Stephan Tohtz is a member of many specialist societies including the "Arbeitsgemeinschaft Endoprothetik" (Working Group Endoprosthetics) and the "Deutschen Gesellschaft für Orthopädie und Orthopädische Chirurgie" (German Society for Orthopedics and Orthopedic Surgery).
