HELIOS Hospital München West

Close to the mountains and home to the Frauenkirche cathedral, Oktoberfest, Bayern Munich, the BMW plant and museum, the Englischer Garten (English Garden), museums and palaces, Munich has many faces. 1.47 million people live in the city on the Isar. After Berlin it is one of the most popular city break destinations in Germany. Bavaria's capital city is divided into 25 districts. The HELIOS Hospital, Munich West is located in the western district of Pasing.

The HELIOS Hospital has a long history going back to a shelter and hospital that opened on the left bank of the Isar in 1884 and was later known as Pasing District Hospital before taking on its current name.

The Pasing area is popular with families. Very green and homey, it is also modern and urban. It is a microcosm of the many contrasts exhibited by Munich as a whole: metropolis and oasis, tradition and modernity, domesticity and worldliness.

Pasing has been an important transport interchange since the nineteenth century, and the saying “from France to Istanbul via Pasing” still applies today. Even long-distance express trains stop here; each day 85,000 travelers arrive at Bavaria’s fourth largest station.
