Diabetes insipidus

Diabetes insipidus is a disease or disorder that is often signalized by a lot of thirst and the excretion of great amounts of urine. Often it is the result of the patient’s body not correctly turning out, storing or releasing an important hormone. Diabetes insipidus (DI) can also occur when your kidneys are unable to respond properly to that hormone. Treatments are possible in order to relieve the patients thirst and to normalize the output of urine.

Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is a man’s inability to maintain an erection long enough to have sex.  Although it is more common in older males, erectile dysfunction can develop at any age. While experiencing occasional problems maintaining an erection does not necessarily indicate erectile dysfunction, if the problem is ongoing it should be attended to. Erectile dysfunction is a physical problem that can often be treated. Treatment of erectile dysfunction ranges from medication to surgery and it is often successful.  Erectile dysfunction can have underlying causes such as heart disease; therefore consulting a doctor about erectile problems should be taken seriously as this may be the first step in detecting other health problems.

Fecal incontinence

Fecal incontinence refers to the inability of controlling one’s bowel movements.  This loss of control may be partial or complete.  Causes of fecal incontinence may commonly include constipation, diarrhea or damage/injury to nerves or muscles.  Damage to nerves and muscles may be incurred in women during childbirth.  Fecal incontinence may also arise in people of advanced age whose sphincter muscles have become weaker.  Although fecal incontinence can be embarrassing to discuss, there are many treatments available that can improve and sometimes correct this disorder.
