Tuberculosis

Tuberculosis is a disease caused by the bacterium Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Tuberculosis most frequently affects the lungs but also can involve almost any organ of the body. The bacteria that cause tuberculosis are spread from person to person through tiny droplets released into the air via coughs and sneezes. Today, of course, tuberculosis regularly can be treated effectively with antibiotics.
