Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic brain injury is harm to the brain as the result of an injury. Traumatic brain injury usually results from a violent blow or bump to the head that causes the brain to have a collision with the inside of the cranium. An object penetrating the cranium, such as a shot or traumatized portion of the skull, can as well cause traumatic brain injury. Mild traumatic brain injury may possibly cause provisional dysfunction of brain cells. More serious traumatic brain injury can result in bruising, torn tissues, bleeding and other physical injuries to the head. All these can result in long-term complications or death.
